How much money can you make off a pecan tree?

Now, when harvest time comes, a nut tree can produce up to 50 pounds of nuts. But if all goes well, a pecan tree can produce strong annual yields for decades. In effect, a nut producer does not benefit from early harvests, but expects to obtain crops similar to those of an annuity in the future. The American appetite for walnuts can reach up to 300 million pounds a year, according to Norman Winter, executive director of the National Pecan Marketing Council in Bryan, Texas.
